Somali press freedom activist lashes out and discredit IFJ’s threats and discriminations against Somali journalists and media professionals

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) continuous to harass journalists and media professionals in across Somalia and for those who are exile in neighboring countries.

It is great mourning for Somali journalists and Media professionals as the IFJ’ General Secretary gave wrong definition about the Somalia media’s tough Democracy role in the country.

IFJ’s General Secretary Mr. Aidan White blamed Somali journalist and media professionals that they are working with TFG particularly for those who are against Omar Faruk’s esteem, his speech was immediately translated an indirect threat, that is to say, should the journalists are not working with NUSOJ they must face black list, humiliation and other relevant course of action oncoming season.

Mr. Daud received a several copy of a messages sent by Aidan White of IFJ to some well respected media and human rights organizations instructing them to take all necessary action against the journalists and media organizations against Omar Faruk of NUSOJ who is also a member of IFJ’ executive committee.

“The messages is showing that Mr. Aidan White of IFJ is not happy the activities of the Somali journalists specially their vision and movements to form new associations and so called the propaganda against IFJ and NUSOJ” said Mr. Daud Abdi Daud when a journalist questioned him in an interview about his knowledge or awareness on the planning to hold a joint conference for Somali media sometime in the oncoming months.

Who knows Mr. Aidan White?

He was born in the Creggan area of Derry City in N Ireland in 1951 and he has been the General Secretary of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) since 1987. He previously worked for several newspapers in the United Kingdom. He was with the guardian in London prior to joining the IFJ.  

He is a long-time campaigner for journalists' rights and is a former activist with the National Union of Journalists in Great Britain and Ireland.

“Indeed Mr. Aidan white is now the leading journalism dictatorial society in the world and he is eagerly aiming to fabricate a major folks like him and that is why he is continuing to support Omar Faruk Osman till now” Mr. Daud added.

Mr. Daud stated that the Media professionals in Somalia have publicized great bravery and commitment on eradicating such these tyrannical individuals whenever see anywhere in Somalia because Journalism should be a tool that is shaping Africa to a bright future “Democracy and protection of human rights” thus officers remaining in the media organizations offices for long time is not helpful or weakness.

It’s widely believed, that Mr. Aidan White is used wrong information about Somali Journalists who don’t recognize/support Omar Faruk Osman of NUSOJ, when reputable donors approach him for their information.
